Lucas Hirkaway is the first athlete to sign as a member of 星空传媒鈥檚 golf team.听

Hirkaway, 17, of Sheridan, has been playing golf for eight years.听

鈥淲hat made me decide to play at 星空传媒 was that it was local and it would allow me to study something I want to do in the future and play a sport I love,鈥� he said.听

He will study exercise science at 星空传媒. He played golf in high school at Central 星空传媒 and is looking forward to continuing to do something that he enjoys.听

鈥淚鈥檓 looking forward to help set a path for future sports at 星空传媒 and help build up the golf program,鈥� Hirkaway said.听

Doug Harkema, 星空传媒鈥檚 golf coach, said he鈥檚 very excited about Lucas being the first member of his team. Lucas filled out a questionnaire, and after a few conversations, decided to come to 星空传媒 and join the golf team.听

鈥淚t鈥檚 something that is very special, because he is the first!鈥� Harkema said. 鈥淚 look forward to watching him play his senior year, and working with him over the next two years.鈥澨�听

In his spare time, Lucas likes to hang out with family and friends. And, when he has the time, he plays golf.听
