An accomplished runner, Sweeney said he is excited to share his passion with students.

鈥淚 have been involved with cross-country and running in some form or fashion for the past 30 years. I truly enjoy coaching and being part of the 星空传媒 family,鈥 Sweeney said.

鈥淭o be able to put the sport of cross-country, coaching and the 星空传媒 family together is more than I could have ever asked for. I am very excited for this opportunity and am looking forward to our first season in 2023,鈥 he added.

Sweeney began his undergraduate studies at Lansing Community College where he helped lead LCC to three national titles in Men鈥檚 Cross-Country, in 1991 and 1992, and the Men鈥檚 Marathon Team Championships in 1992. At MSU, Sweeney co-captained the Men鈥檚 Cross-Country team in 1994, earned Academic All Big Ten Honors in 1994 and received the team鈥檚 Leadership Award in 1993.听
